Ramadan 1446: Juz 6 Summary
📖 Surah An-Nisa (4:148 – 4:176) & Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:1 – 5:81)
Juz 6 concludes Surah An-Nisa and begins Surah Al-Ma’idah, shifting the focus from personal responsibility to societal accountability and upholding divine law. The core theme of this Juz is accountability—both in this life and the next—and the necessity of honoring commitments.
The final verses of Surah An-Nisa reinforce that faith requires action. Worship is not just ritual; it must be paired with sincerity, justice, and ethical behavior (4:148–149). Laziness in worship and hypocrisy are condemned, as true faith is reflected in a person’s character and deeds (4:142).
As Surah Al-Ma’idah begins, the focus turns to fulfilling contracts and obligations. Islam places great emphasis on honoring agreements, whether in business, marriage, or faith (5:1). Justice must be upheld, even if it goes against one’s own interests (5:8).
The Juz also includes the story of Cain and Abel (Habil and Qabil), showing how envy and unchecked emotions lead to self-destruction (5:27–31). It serves as a reminder that the consequences of wrongdoing are far-reaching.
Finally, the relationship between Muslims and the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) is discussed (5:44–50). While Islam acknowledges past revelations, it warns against the distortion of divine laws for personal gain. The Quran calls for sincerity and truth in all religious matters.
