Ramadan 1446: Juz 10 Summary

📖 Surah Al-Anfal (8:41 – 9:92)

Juz 10 continues Surah Al-Anfal and moves into Surah At-Tawbah, reinforcing the theme of faith in action—obedience to Allah and sincerity in commitment to Islam. The core theme of this Juz is steadfastness in faith, sacrifice for the sake of Allah, and the consequences of hypocrisy.

The Juz begins by concluding the discussion on the Battle of Badr, highlighting how victory was granted by Allah alone and how war spoils should be distributed fairly (8:41). The surah then addresses the importance of unity and preparation in times of conflict, urging believers to remain disciplined and avoid division (8:46).

As Surah At-Tawbah begins, the tone shifts to one of accountability and warning. This is the only surah in the Quran that does not start with "Bismillah", reflecting its serious and stern nature. This surah was revealed at a time when the Muslim community was confronting betrayal from some Arab tribes and hypocrites who secretly worked against Islam.

A significant part of this Juz discusses the Hypocrites (Munafiqoon)—those who claimed to be Muslim but actively undermined the faith (9:64–68). The surah warns that hypocrisy is more dangerous than outright disbelief, as it spreads doubt and weakens the Muslim community from within.

Additionally, this Juz discusses the expedition of Tabuk, where some Muslims hesitated or refused to join the Prophet (PBUH) in battle, exposing their weak faith. The sincere believers are distinguished from those who only followed Islam for personal gain.

  • Sincerity in Worship and Sacrifice:True believers are those who support Islam with their wealth and efforts, rather than seeking personal benefit (9:91–92).
