  1. Moderation in Eating

O Children of Adam! Dress properly whenever you are at worship. Eat and drink, but do not waste. Surely He does not like the wasteful. (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:31)

💡 Embrace moderation; the Quran advises us not to be extravagant in eating, encouraging a balanced diet.

2. Cleanliness is Part of Faith

Surely Allah loves those who always turn to Him in repentance and those who purify themselves. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:222)

💡 Cleanliness impacts our physical health and spiritual purity. Regular hygiene and environmental cleanliness are emphasized.

3. Read and reflect

96:1

Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created—

96:2

created humans from a clinging clot.

96:3

Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,

96:4

Who taught by the pen—

96:5

taught humanity what they knew not. (Surah Al-‘Alaq, 96:1-5)

💡 Contemplation is encouraged in the Quran, which can reduce stress and increase mindfulness.

4. Maintain Physical Health

82:6

O humanity! What has emboldened you against your Lord, the Most Generous,

82:7

Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,

82:8

moulding you in whatever form He willed? (Surah Al-Infitar, 82:6-8)

💡 Understanding our bodies as a gift from Allah motivates us to stay active and healthy.

5. Get Adequate Sleep

and [He] made your sleep for rest... (Surah An-Naba, 78:9)

💡 The Quran mentions rest as a sign of Allah’s mercy, highlighting the importance of sleep for health.

6. Avoid That Which is Harmful

Spend in the cause of Allah and do not let your own hands throw you into destruction ˹by withholding˺. And do good, for Allah certainly loves the good-doers. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:195)

💡 Protecting ourselves by avoiding substances that can cause harm or addiction is crucial for maintaining our wellbeing.

7. Foster Community Connections

The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy. (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:10)

💡 Social interactions and maintaining bonds are vital for mental health, as taught in the Quran.
